Who We Are

The Slough Sikh School Trust (SSST) is a registered charity established in 2003, dedicated to advancing education, preserving Sikh heritage and supporting the wider community in Slough. Founded on the principles of Sikhism, including equality, compassion, selfless service and lifelong learning, our mission is to provide opportunities for children, young people and adults to develop their knowledge, strengthen their cultural identity and build lasting connections within the community.

Through education, religious events and community initiatives, we strive to ensure that Sikh values and traditions continue to inspire future generations.

What We Do

Community engagement ia at the heart of everything we do. Our weekly Punjabi School provides language education to over 300 students, supporting their learning from an early age through to GCSE and A-Level qualifications.

We organise our annual Khalsa Summer Camp, bringing together around 500 children to explore Sikh history, values and faith through educational activities and shared experiences.

We also facilitate religious ceremonies at Khalsa Primary School during weekends, providing a welcoming space for families to come together for Sukhmani Sahib Paaths, Anand Karaj ceremonies and other religious occasions. In addition, we make the school’s facilities available for community hire, including the Darbar Hall, sports hall and other spaces for weddings, celebrations, sporting activities and community events.

Alongside these programmes, we are the Religious body for the two Sikh schools in Slough (Khalsa Primary School and Pioneer Secondary Academy) and work closely with Sikh Academies Trust to help improve educational opportunities, strengthen Sikh ethos and benefit the wider school community.

Our Commitment to the Community

For over two decades, SSST has been committed to making a positive and lasting difference for the wider Slough community. Through the generosity of donors, the dedication of our volunteers, we continue to deliver educational programmes, cultural activities and opportunities that bring our community together.

Looking ahead, our ambition is to build on these foundations, expand opportunities for learning and ensure that future generations remain connected to their Sikh faith, language and heritage. Together, we aim to create a stronger, more inclusive and thriving community.
